The Highland Fling consists of freely pivoting cars. The spoked wheel begins horizontal. As the wheel spins, the cars orient so rider's heads are pointed toward the center of the wheel. Once the wheel is up to full speed, the arm lifts, spinning the cars in a vertical circle.
