Examples of lab practica from the workshop.

Join us for lab practica workshop this Saturday. In the workshop, several lab practica will be presented and participants will attempt each practicum as their students would. In a lab practicum, students apply the ideas they have learned in a unit to solve a physics problem related to a physical setup in the lab. Practica are perfect for authentic assessment in physics. Come to broaden your repertoire of lab practica that you can use with your students.

When: Saturday, March 1, 8:45 am to noon
8:45am Coffee, juice, bagels, and donuts social time (presenters can start setting up at 8:15am.)
9:00am to 9:10 Introduction and SLAPT business -- discuss AAPT issues
9:10am to Noon: Presentation of Practica

Where: Francis Howell High School

From the Highway 40 and Highway 94 interchange, go south on 94. Go past
Route D. As you are coming south-west on 94 (from Hwy 40), turn right
into the first school entrance and turn right immediately into the
parking area. This area is for teacher parking. You will be directly
in front of the "C" building. Enter the C-building on the side away
from the main school entrance. Go directly up the stairs. Turn left
when you exit the stairwell. Find room C227.
